Associate Degree in Security Protection and Investigation Management - Major in Industrial Security

Overview

The Degree in  Security Protection and Investigation Management - major in Industrial Security was designed in collaboration with the Caribbean Central Banks Chief of Security organization and Excelsior Community College. The program is intended to provide structured training for security practitioners in the banking and financial services sectors across the region. This programme is in response to the growth in the financial services sector in the region and the necessity to secure assests.

Goals and Objectives

  • To develop and enhance the theoretical and practical knowledge base and competencies of junior and middle level security professionals in both public and private sector banking and financial services institutions;
  • To develop the ability of industry professionals to apply core principles and standards that integrate theory and practice for decision making and application to tasks in the workplace;
  • To develop critical thinking skills of learners/practitioners so they may better understand and efficiently and effectively operate within the financial, economic, managerial, regulatory, social, cultural and business environments, within which institutions in the sector operate, and are expected to respond to the needs of its public; and
  • To enhance ethical practices and standards for banking and finance security practitioners in the context of the changing financial and economic landscape in the region.
