The Associate Degree in Business Administration offered by the CCCJ has been developed to help prepare students to perform Marketing, Accounting and Management functions in a variety of organizations. This is both a practical and theory- based programme. It draws upon such disciplines as Business and Industrial Psychology, Communication, Economics, Information Technology and Data Analysis.
The Business Administration programme is typically offered over two years, but students have a maximum of five (5) years in which to complete their studies. This is a general programme, therefore all students are required to pursue all courses in the programme.
In addition, all Students are required to do thirty (30) hours of voluntary service and two hundred and forty (240) hours of work experience.
To matriculate to the programme, applicants must fulfill one of the following:
1. Pass at least five (5) subjects in GCE O’level, including English Language, with grade A, B or C. Or
2. Pass at least five (5) subjects in CXC, including English Language, with grade I, II, or III. Grade III pass must be after January 1998 Or
3. Pass at least five (5) subjects in SSC, including English Language and Mathematics/Accounts with Range IV,V Or.
4. Mature Student Entry. Applicants falling in this category must, normally, be over the age of twenty-five (25) years, with a minimum of five (5) years experience in an area related to the field of study which the applicant wishes to pursue - e.g. marketing, accounts, office administration, and management. Applicants will be accepted based on an assessment of their prior learning. Each applicant must submit an academic portfolio for individual assessment.
Holders of a CCCJ Diploma in Business Studies/Office Administration or /Certificate in Business Studies, Office Administration from a recognized institution may matriculate into the programme at a level beyond the first year.
