Transforming Lives through Quality: ECC celebrates Quality Day

Excelsior Community College (ECC) celebrates its annual Quality Day Wednesday March 29, 2017 as a part of its College Month activities under the theme, Transforming Today’s Dreams into Tomorrow’s Realities.

Quality Day is to raise awareness about the importance of accreditation. This year’s event brings awareness of accreditation as a tool to support and guide public policies. It is also about sharing knowledge about accreditation, certification and the importance of quality to institutional efficiency and effectiveness.

According to the Quality Assurance Unit at the St. Andrew-based institution, “Accreditation, for us, is a stamp of approval and assurance that our programmes and systems of delivery conform to current national and international standards and that our processes can stand up to public scrutiny.”

This interactive day includes the mounting of exhibitions on information about the Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica (CCCJ), University Council of Jamaica (UCJ), National Council on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NCTVET), National Certification Body of Jamaica/ Bureau of Standards Jamaica: ISO9001:2015 NCBJ/BSJ), Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC), Jamaica Music Society (JAMMS), and Export and Import.
