Excelsior Community College hosts Warehouse Logistics Lecture Series

The School of Business and Entrepreneurial Studies (SOBES) of the St. Andrew-based Excelsior Community College (ECC) will host its second biennial Logistics Lecture Series next Tuesday July 4 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. under the theme, Warehouse Logistics: Expanding Kingston Terminal & its Impact on the Logistics Hub.

The keynote speaker will be attorney-at-law and policy analyst of the Jamaica Logistics Task Force, Ainsley Brown.

According to Head of the SOBES, Mrs. Gwyneth Jackson, “This Lecture Series is part of industry-based and academic conversations about the importance and revolutionary impact of the logistics hub on the capital of Jamaica. Our students at the College participate in and are exposed to these emerging trends within their curriculum as the logistics hub becomes a reality and not a fairytale.”

She further stated that this lecture in particular is to educate and inform students as well as other stakeholders about how logistics and by extension supply chains management gives a country such as Jamaica a competitive advantage in the global economy.

As such, she argues, “ECC is at the centre preparing day-one ready graduates who will become the engines of the logistics workforce in Jamaica.”

The event will be staged at the main campus of the College, 137 Mountain View Avenue, Kingston 3 and is open to the public.
