Applied Associate of Science Degree in Automobile Repairs and Engineering
The Associate degree in Automobile Repairs and Engineering is concerned with developing entry level Automobile skills in candidates. The courses taught under this option provide students with good introductions to the different areas of the field of Automotive Repairs, as well as develops entry level competences in a variety of Engineering Techniques such as Autotronics, Auto body Repair, Hydraulics and Diagnostics. On completion of this programme of study, students should be able to: build simulations, diagnose automotive problems, use computers to help solve autotronics and find solutions to Automotive and Engineering problems.
Graduates should be able to function at every entry level position in careers such as: Automotive Engineers, Diagnostic Technicians, Auto body Repairers and Hydraulic Technicians.
Graduates should be able to matriculate into a Bachelor Degree in Automobile Repairs and Engineering that is offered by institutions across the Caribbean and the Americas. Although in some institutions the Associate degree graduate may be required to do additional credits where weak academic passes are obtained, or where a programme does not develop competence in a required entry level skill.
