Associate Degree in Warehousing Logistics
Overview
This programme is designed to provide opportunities for learners to develop and reinforce academic as well as occupational skills and attitudes required for acquiring jobs and career advancement within the warehousing logistics and supply chain industry. The programme covers intricate steps in negotiating, sourcing, leveraging, networking, monitoring, channeling and shipping of raw materials or assembled products, and prepares graduates for entry level work in the warehousing logistics and supply chain management sector.
Rationale
Studying warehousing logistics management will enable participants to solve complex business problems related to the route of products and services from the manufacturer to the end customer. This multi-faceted discipline plays a critical role in the competitive success of businesses within warehouses. The primary objective of this programme is to teach participants how to plan and obtain needed supply of resources, store, pick and dispatch goods or services in the most efficient way possible to meet customers’ requirements.
Entry Requirements
To matriculate to the programme applicants must fulfill one of the following:
1. Pass at least 5 CSEC/GCE/SSC including English Language and Mathematics with grade I, II, III/A, B, C. Grade III pass in CSEC must be after June 1998
or
2. Professional diploma in Warehousing Logistics Management from ECC
or
3. Mature Student Entry/Prior Learning Assessment. Applicants falling in this category must be over 25 years, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a specialized area of the industry. Applicants will be accepted based on an assessment of their prior learning. Each applicant must submit an academic portfolio for individual assessment.
