The Excelsior Community College (ECC) was granted Institutional Accreditation by TheUniversity Council of Jamaica on February 29, 2024, an achievement that indicates thatour programmes are credible, of high-quality, and have met or exceeded establishedstandards for educational quality.Purpose and Value of Institutional Accreditation This accreditation covers all tertiary-level programmes (starting from the Associatedegree level) offered at the Excelsior Community College.In celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2024, receiving Institutional Accreditation servesas a testament to our commitment to academic excellence and quality. It is a significantmoment to celebrate and reaffirm the College’s commitment to providing the future ofJamaica with the necessary resources for success.
ECC Wins 2024 Rugby Championship
We are pleased to announce that Team ECC recently defeated UWI in the Rugby Championship Finals. ECC won 18 – 3. Please join us in congratulating the team and their management staff.

Dr. Bongelo Gombele Joins ECC Team As College Doctor
The College now has a doctor on call. He is Dr. Bongelo Gombele, Obesity & Diabetes Expert, who is also a Medical Doctor attached to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH). Dr. Gombele also delivered an interesting presentation on lifestyle diseases and what you can do to remain healthy during this morning’s Principal Hour. He ended by presenting an autographed copy of his book In The Making of a Medical Doctor to Principal Philmore McCarthy. In the Making of a Medical Doctor chronicles the struggles of the author in his pursuit of becoming a medical doctor. This autobiography is a sequel to his first published book You Can Make It where he inspires and motivates readers on how to dream and keep their dreams alive. In the Making of a Medical Doctor takes readers on the second leg of the journey where courage and determination are put to the test. The will to continue overrides the feeling to give up the dream which is faced by the realities of life. Principal Philomore McCarthy (left) is presented with an autographed book written by Dr. Bongelo Gombele.

IMPORTANT ADVISORY: To All Staff and Students
The Excelsior Community College wishes to confirm that operations will resume normal operations as of tomorrow (Thursday, November 2, 2023). A team of Structural Engineers have made the necessary assessments and have given assurance that the facilities across ECC’s campuses are cleared for occupancy and use. The Excelsior Community College wishes to thank the team of Structural Engineers involved in the assessment process. We also wish to thank our students and members of staff for their patience as we return to normalcy. Age Animo!
