At Excelsior Community College (ECC), we take pride in offering high-quality education and training programs that meet global standards of quality and ensure excellence in learning. In keeping with this, the College is also registered by the Jamaica Tertiaryn Education Commission (J-TEC) as a Specialist/Advanced Institution.

Quality assurance awards bear testament to our commitment to providing students with a well-rounded education and equipping them with the skills they need to succeed in their future careers.
Below are some of the quality assurance awards made to the Excelsior Community College in recent times:
– UCJ Institutional Accreditation conferred in March 2024 after commencing this journey in 2019.
– first ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification by the National Certification Board of Jamaica (NCBJ) in February 2022; this is a globally recognized certification under the auspices of the International Organization for Standardization. The ECC is the first and only Community College with this certification.
ECC Programmes that are ISO 9001:2015 QMS certified are:
– Associate in Business Administration
– Bachelors in Business Administration
– Associate Management Information Systems
– Bachelors in Management Information Systems
– Associate in Information Technology
– Bachelors in Information Technology
– Bachelors Degree in Nursing

The College’s Research and Innovation Division is also ISO 9001:2015 certified for Research and Social Sciences and Humanities.
All Nursing programmes offered are approved by the Nursing Council of Jamaica (NCJ); in addition, the Bachelors in Nursing is UCJ accredited via a UWI franchise arrangement.
Other programmes offered comply with the quality standards and requirements of external partners including the Council of Community Colleges (CCCJ), Ministry of Education and Youth (MOEY), City & Guilds and the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).
The Internal Quality Assurance Unit monitors the quality of the College’s systems and processes and is responsible for ensuring the maintenance of local and international quality assurance certification and accreditation.
