My experience as a counsellor commenced in September 2000 and has continued to the present.

– Member of the Jamaican Psychological Society (JamPsych).
Type of session available
I facilitate individual and group therapy. Sessions are conducted in-person and in virtual modes.
Approach to therapy
My therapeutic approach is primarily client-centred. I also integrate various techniques based on what may be best suited for my clients, using grief and trauma informed lenses. A collaborative approach is taken with clients who are best suited to make values-oriented changes to their own lives. Clients are given non-judgemental support in their journey to develop confidence in their own abilities and trust their own judgement in navigating decisions for their personal benefit.

Professional History

My professional career includes providing therapy for at-risk children & adolescents and their families, as well as with adults in general. I also conduct motivational sessions and psychoeducational trainings with various audiences in different settings, including parents and
educators. I have also facilitated the training and professional development of Counsellors through lecturing and practicum supervision.

I have a lifelong commitment to learning and self-reflection. I believe in the individual’s ability to take responsibility for their own choices. However, navigating life’s numerous challenges will require support and partnerships. Wholeness, wellness and success are concepts best defined by individuals as they seek to find meaning and purpose for their own lives.
