Years of Experience:
Sashagay Bennett-Nelson has over seven years of experience working in both government and private educational institutions locally and overseas. During this time, she has gained hands-on experience providing mental health support and behavioural interventions to children and adolescents in school settings.
 
Philosophy as a Mental Health Professional:
Mrs Bennett-Nelson is guided by the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth. She approaches each client with empathy, respect, and a deep commitment to meeting them where they are, emotionally, developmentally, and culturally.
 
Approach to Counselling:
Her approach to counselling is integrative, combining person-centred and developmentally appropriate practices with a strong foundation in trauma-informed care. She also draws on a range of evidence-based modalities including play therapy, cognitive behavioural techniques, and psychoeducation, tailored to the specific needs of the individual.

Mrs Bennett-Nelson is trained to support individuals facing trauma, grief and loss, adjustment difficulties, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, behavioural challenges, and developmental concerns such as ADHD and Autism. She also has experience working with adults through integrative play and expressive therapies, particularly in cases involving unresolved childhood experiences or parenting-related stress.
