The Associate of Science in Psychology is is an introductory course in Psychology. It focuses on the broad field of psychology to enable the graduates to understand introductory psychology principles and methodologies. The course should act as a a foundation for persons who want to use the acquired qualification to enter a bachelor’s degree programme at an advanced stage* or to work as an assistant in the field of social work, in a counselling environment or to enter careers that require understanding basic psychology.

Upon successful completion of the Programme graduates are awarded an Associate of Science Degree in Psychology by the Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica(CCCJ).
Strong written and verbal communication and
etiquette in a formal business environment.
Public speaking and presentation abilities
Leadership qualities for team environments.
Awareness of globalization and cross-cultural issues.
To matriculate into the Associate Degree in Psychology, applicants must fullfill one of the following criteria:
Five (5) subjects at CSEC / GCE O’ Level equivalent as follows:
* Students without Mathematics will be required to sit an equivalence course
