Welcome to the Counselling Services Unit (CSU)

The CSU is a support arm of the ECC and a part of the Student Services Unit. The CSU provides individual or group therapeutic intervention to students and staff who experience psychosocial distress. We equip clients to cope and realise academic or personal success.

Vision

A fully equipped counselling centre which fosters wholistic development and adequately caters to the mental health needs of students and staff. Emphasis is placed on mental health because there is no real health without good mental health.

What is Counsellors Meet?

Counsellors Meet

A Counsellor Meeting is a confidential and supportive conversation designed to help individuals explore their thoughts, feelings, concerns, and behaviors in a safe, nonjudgmental space. These sessions typically last between 20 minutes and one hour.

Rather than focusing on solving a specific issue, the initial meeting is intended to:

Access & Equity Policy

The Counselling Services Unit is open to all students and staff, regardless of demographic

Referral Policy

Cases beyond the expertise of scope of the unit will be referred to appropriate external professionals agencies.

Outreach & Engagement Policy

The counselling Services Unit shall actively participate in campus events.

Appointment & Walk-in Policy

Clients are encouraged to make appointments in advance
