The programme design recognizes that the use of Information Technology is an integral component of all businesses; and as such, the curriculum provides students with opportunities to apply theory to practice using a range of skills that can be applied in different industries. The programme is focused on students who are interested in careers as technology design and management professionals. They learn to integrate hardware, software, network components, and other technology into information systems so that they work well together, are secure and can be maintained as needed.

Requirements
To matriculate to the programme, applicants must fulfil one of the following:
1. Pass at least five (5) subjects at CSEC/GCE including English Language and Mathematics and a Technical subject, with grade I, II or III. Grade III / A, B, or C. Grade III pass in CSEC must be after June 1998. (City & Guilds Stage 3 Math &. English is accepted – conditions apply). NB. Students with 5 subjects, without a pass in CSEC/GCE Mathematics will be required to sit equivalent Foundation courses at an additional cost.
OR
2. Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR)/Mature Student Entry applicants. must be over twenty-five (25) years with a minimum of five years experience in a specialised area of the industry. Applicants will be accepted based on an assessment of their prior learning. Each applicant must submit an academic portfolio for individual assessment.
Advanced Placement
Holders of an Associate Degree in Information Technology with no more than six (6) credits outstanding can advance to the third year of the program. Applicants who fail to meet this criterion will be required to complete the necessary bridging courses at the Associate degree level prior to being afforded acceptance.
Multiple Exit Points
Persons who have successfully completed the first two (2) years are able to exit the programme with an Associate of Science degree in Information Technology.
