CAPTION: Nurse of the Year, Shantal Remekie (left) and Student Nurse of the Year, Bobbie-Ann Collins.

We would like to congratulate two of our Year 3 students; Miss Bobbie-Ann Collins and Mr Derron Jackson, who represented the Excelsior Community College School of Nursing and Allied Health in this year’s Student Nurse of the Year competition, organized by the Nurses’ Association of Jamaica.

Miss Collins, was crowned Student Nurse of the Year, as she was the top performing student of all the schools of nursing that competed in the competition.

Mr. Jackson on the other hand, placed second in public speaking, which was a part of the competition.

Also of note, is that Nurse Shantal Remekie, a pass student of ECCSONAH, walked away with the prestigious Nurse of the Year trophy.

Special thanks to Mr Jonathan Adeoye and Mrs Sandra Morris, who prepared the students for the competition, and Mrs. Tamara McFarlane, who coached the students in Public Speaking.
